The Edgewater Yacht Club Junior Race Team (JRT) is a premier program for young sailors, represented EYC in I-LYA and US Sailing racing events. The JRT offers the opportunity to compete at the highest levels, with local, regional, and national regattas. Sailors can push themselves in some of the toughest competitions in North America and further hone their sailing skills.

Benefits of Junior Race Team:

• Learning new skills. Sailing is a challenging and rewarding sport that requires a wide range of skills, including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. Being on a junior race team gives you the opportunity to learn and develop these skills in a fun and competitive environment.
• Making new friends. Sailing is a social sport, and being on a junior race team is a great way to make new friends with a shared interest. You will also have the opportunity to travel and compete with your teammates, which can create lifelong bonds.
• Developing leadership skills. Our junior race team is led by experienced sailors who can teach you valuable leadership skills. These skills can be applied to other areas of your life, such as school, work, and sports.
• Building confidence. Sailing is a challenging sport, but it can also be very rewarding. When you succeed in sailing, it can boost your confidence and self-esteem. This can lead to success in other areas of your life.
