Sailing & Powerboating Lessons

Edgewater Yacht Club offers a perfect way to get into boating, no matter your skill level! Our small group and private lessons are affordable and comprehensive, teaching you the basics if you're just getting started or helping experienced boaters take their skills to the next level. Our instructors can help you become the boater you want to be. No prior experience necessary!

Intro to Sailing

This group program is a great introduction to the sport of sailing. After a short lesson on land, you'll spend a few hours sailing. You'll be introduced to the parts of a boat, basic boat handling, sail trim, and perform a few basic maneuvers.
Duration: 3 hours over 1 session
Student / Instructor Ratio: 3 to 1
Price: EYC Members - $120 plus applicable taxes and fees per participant ($150 for Non-Members)

Learn to Sail

This exciting entry-level group program course is designed to accommodate a wide range of experience levels, with no experience being necessary. This course will provide you with a solid foundation of sailing skills, including but not limited to boating safety, sailing terminology and points of sail, sail trim, steering and boat handling.
Duration: 7.5 hours over 3 sessions
Student / Instructor Ratio: 3 to 1
Price: EYC Members - $300 plus applicable taxes and fees per participant ($375 per Non-Members)

Open Sail

This program is ideal for those with basic sailing skills who want to expand their sailing knowledge while sailing along the North Coast of Cleveland. Come along for a great ride and have a goal / skill in mind you would like to work on.
Duration: 3 hours over 1 session
Student / Instructor Ratio: 3 to 1
Price: EYC Members - $120 plus applicable taxes and fees per participant ($150 for Non-Members)

Our private sailing / powerboating lessons provide you with the ultimate personalized sailing experience! Enjoy the privacy of an instructor and boat all to yourself, making it perfect for both newcomers and experienced sailors alike. Our dedicated staff will work with you individually to help you reach your sailing goals - no matter where you are starting from.
Duration: By Appointment
Student / Instructor Ratio: TBD
Price: EYC Members - $80 per hour ($100 for Non-Members), additional fees may apply to groups of 2 or more.
